If you wish to be treated in a private hospital, having private health insurance pays for your hospital, theatre and implant costs. It also helps fund your surgeon, anaesthetist and assistant’s fees.
If you wish to be treated in a private hospital without health insurance then you will have to entirely self-fund your hospital stay.
Please note that Dr. Farah performs all his elective surgery in private hospitals only. If you wish to be treated in a public hospital, Dr. Farah will have to refer you to a colleague who operates in the public sector.
Yes – if you would like to claim back some of the expenses of your consultation/treatment from Medicare then you must have a referral from a doctor. Referrals from general practitioners are valid for 12 months while referrals from other specialists are valid for 3 months.
